AI in Action - Submit Your Video

Overview

The AI in Action video series highlights innovative and thoughtful uses of Generative AI by SDSU faculty and staff in teaching, research, student support, operations, and beyond. Submissions will be curated and published on the aaai.sdsu.edu site to celebrate emerging practices and spark interdisciplinary collaboration.

Who Can Submit

Submissions are open to:

  • SDSU faculty (tenured, tenure-track, and lecturers)
  • SDSU staff (administrators, student affairs professionals, IT, etc.)
  • Collaborators from SDSU auxiliary units (e.g., SDSU Research Foundation) and approved research partners

Video Guidelines

  • Length: 2–5 minutes
  • Format: Zoom recording link or MP4
  • Content:
    • Brief introduction (name, role, department)
    • Description of the use case
    • How GenAI is applied and which applications or technologies are involved
    • Outcomes and lessons learned
    • Reflection on impact, equity, and ethics

Recording Recommendations:

  • Choose a quiet, well-lit environment where you will not be interrupted
  • Look toward the camera and keep the tone conversational—authenticity is more important that polish
  • Favor solid neutral colors over stripes or checkers for wardrobe 
  • You may need multiple takes to get comfortable

Submit Your AI in Action Video

Peer Review Process

Submissions will undergo a light-touch peer review led by the ITD Faculty Fellows team.

Review Criteria:

Reviewers will provide brief, constructive feedback within 3–4 weeks of submission.

Acknowledgment and Recognition

All accepted videos will be featured on the website, promoted via SDSU newsletters, and may be highlighted in university events and workshops. Contributors will receive a letter of recognition from Vice President and CIO, Dr. James Frazee.
